Chris is a Partner at Land Use Strategies, specializing in aggregate, asphalt, mineral mining, and complex regulatory approval campaigns. He brings decades of experience helping corporate clients navigate politically sensitive land use issues, manage community opposition, and secure project approvals.
Since 1999, Chris has managed campaigns in 36 states and five foreign countries for construction materials companies, asphalt producers, mining companies, agricultural interests, and other regulated industries. His work focuses on building public and political support in high-pressure approval environments where organized opposition and regulatory complexity can create significant risk.
Chris is a frequent industry speaker, published author, and former adjunct professor at the University of Arizona, where he taught courses on regulatory politics and strategies for overcoming organized opposition. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, holds a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and has completed executive programs at Harvard, MIT, and Harvard Business School.
